Ihre Aufgaben

• Your work will be part of a larger scientific project that aims to prove that the cerebellum plays a role in positive and negative treatment expectations, and to understand how the cerebellum may contribute. To this end, a major 7T fMRI study will be conducted in a large group of healthy volunteers. The study will be conducted at the Erwin L. Hahn Institute for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ELH). The focus of the 7T fMRI study is on the possible interactions between the cerebellum and brainstem areas known to be involved in placebo hypoalgesia and nocebo hyperalgesia. You will be responsible for conducting the study and performing the data analysis. In addition, you will be involved in a study examining placebo hypoalgesia and nocebo hyperalgesia in patients with cerebellar degeneration, including EEG recordings and 3T MRI examinations.

Ihr Profil

• Diploma or Master's degree in a natural science (e.g. biology, physics, computer science or similar), psychology, neuroscience or similar
• Doctoral degree in a natural science, psychology, neuroscience or similar
• Experience in performing behavioral studies in human volunteers.
• Experience in statistical analyses (e.g., using R)
• Experience in recordings of physiological data (e.g., skin conductance responses) are a plus
• Programming and computer skills (Matlab or similar) are a plus
• Knowledge in brain imaging is a plus
• Experience in the evaluation of EEG oscillations is a plus
